I'm getting this Vintage Omega Geneve 1012 Caliber from a seller in Korea. The pictures are detailed, I'm having some trouble determining its authenticity.

So you already purchased the watch? What are your specific concerns?

I haven't purchased it yet, I'm looking to buy. I'm not sure if its real, fake, or frankenstein.

My guess is that the dial is refurbished and possibly bracelet as well (otherwise it was extremely polished/cleaned up). I'm expecting the 1012 movement to be authentic.

Movement has an issue on it. Rubbing on the case.

Hands look like its not original. My biggest question is will this watch be serviceable by an official Omega dealer in the future?

You would never have a watch out of warranty serviced by Omega anyways.

I mean if I have a 15 year old Omega Speedmaster that's 100% authentic that I bought from a certified retailer that is out of warranty, I'm pretty sure Omega would service it. They might charge me like a $500 for servicing, but they'd service it. So by that, would these eBay watches that have authentic movement be serviceable by Omega?

All of the issues have been pointed out.
It's a totally authentic Omega watch that's been "restored".
Omega will be quite willing to service it and won't wreck its value.
If you like it and you aren't a "collector" then go for it.

They would but that doesn’t mean the dial is worth anything or the watch.

The movement and case is 100% legit. That being said few collectors would touch this watch as it is not correct. The dial is refinished albeit to a high level and the hands while most likely Omega are service hands from another model.

A lot of these prettied up watches come from Korea. They look good but have little value to collectors hence the normally affordable price on a vintage piece.

At what point will you do your own research? Virtually every answer you were given is available, should you choose to follow the advice given in your other thread.

    Hey,

I'm brand new to watches, and it doesn't hurt to get advice and judgments on expensive time pieces from other people, especially those more experienced, as I continue to learn myself along the way.

    Thanks!
