Is it genuine? Worth buying? I’m not as into vintage watches as the rest of you, however I still want to purchase an authentic and respectable piece. Thank you.

It does look genuine, but it's not in the best condition, so it would be interesting to know the price.

Is there a picture of the outside of the caseback?

    Looks great.
Movement serial number is from 1953. The 552 is generally very reliable and my amateur view of the movement suggests it is in good condition.
The internal caseback and number appear to correspond with the watch.
I can’t say whether it’s been redialled or not but if it has been, it’s been nicely done.
Depending on price I’d be interested.

Price is fair, would go for it. Movement doesn't seem to be in a bad shape.

Small medallion Seamaster is from a later era, early-mid 60's in my opinion. I'm on vacation and have limited resources.
Movement number is from 1963, not 1953.

Note the rotor damage on the caseback. Could be old damage, could be a current problem.

You only live once. I had this watched for months and price fell from $700 to $500 today. Many thanks to those who contributed! My first Omega!

It's a style that I enjoy and if the OP is pleased, that's great!

He will certainly need to get it serviced and the final tally may be surprising.
It may not end up a profitable investment but I am fully aware at how these can tug at your heart!

I'm all for saving old watches and wear it with a smile and in good health!

I bought it on eBay. My dad runs an eBay business and I’ve learned from him that the buyer ALWAYS wins if there’s an issue.

If you notice the circular wear on the inside of the caseback, you can assume the rotor was rubbing at some point.
It well may have been fixed at later service because I don't see corresponding wear on the rotor but I would assume not for safety's sake.

Please have it looked at and good luck!
