Need your expertise. What is your feedback regarding this 105.003-65? One of the nicer ones I've seen.
I don't have pics of the movement yet.

I like the photos better than the last few 003's we have been asked about.

003's have sold in last 12 months for $4000 - $9000.

For the moment it is the widest variation on price for quality I have seen in a speedmaster reference.

I am considering only correctly appointed watches not those missing a dial or some other horrors.

I've been monitoring 105.003s for the last 1.5 months. Prices definitely have had a wide range as Spacefruit has mentioned. The cleaner and more accurate offerings have fetched the higher prices. I'm willing to pay a premium for genuine, but I've learned that you have to know what you are doing in order to identity a legit 105.003. For every 10 I've seen, maybe 1 is attention worthy. Personally, I like the straight lugs better.

Hahaha excellent! I won't compete with you. Good luck on the journey. Sure does take lot of work (searching and sifting through bogus offerings) but I imagine the payoff will be huge.

 

Rarely have such wise words come from any of us, let alone a newcomer.

003's are truly an interesting topic

 

well, I'm sure to be posting here asking for advice on any I find, so you can keep track of my progress

 

Just had a look at the bigger pictures and noticed a couple of points - may be minor: The minute recorder sub-dial has some slight damage around the center. The watch is said to have been serviced, but the crown looks dirty around the logo area so the crown may not have been changed yet - may be an issue if you're picky.

Oh no! Nice find. I was told one of the registers wasn't functioning (getting serviced now), maybe that's the one having the issue?
Is this considered a minor or major? Deal-breaker?

 

I think it looks good, apart from the hands. Are the correct ones available ?

 

Depends a bit who is doing the service, and what they are actually doing......
