Hi guys, I'm curious to get your thoughts on this 90s Speedy. No movement shot available, but other than that it looks maybe a bit polished, and does the lume look funky to you? What say you, OK purchase for someone who just wants a nice looking Speedmaster for daily wear, assuming the price is right?
The lume on the plots look alright. It also has the older bezel without the accent over the E and with the dot next to 70, which makes it a bit more valuable.
Yup, Japanese one with terrible timekeeping, so trying to factor in a major service and... Whatever else. Appreciate the opinions you all gave!
dial and hands match perfect, the early bezel is a bonus , bracelet looks fine so if the price minus the service is fine catch it . couldn't get a better watch for the vale atm and those are getting more and more attention
Tritium speedmaster hands seem to age uniquely. They look like period correct tritium hands to me although it is tough to be overly certain given the picture quality.
That 1479 bracelet is becoming more valuable as well. Not nearly as much as the 1450, but still pretty desirable.
Thanks for all the opinions and advice, I decided to pull the trigger so will see how this turns out, it is running fast but hopefully that is easily corrected. I have been on the hunt for a speedy for a while and this is my first one, so I will be nervously excited until it arrives!
Everything looks fine, also the hands seems to be ok. The bezel correct, early ‘90. The dial of those watches gets a fantastic patina...
