Hey there, If one would have asked me about my thoughts on the Rolex Explorer II about a year ago I would have said: It is one of the ugliest watches Rolex ever made... BUT: Sometimes Things change - and you don’t even know why.... Well: I got an offer about trading a Sub for this 216570 - Box and Papers (which Seem correct) included. As I Heard some Horrorstorys (well we all have) about China Fakes with correct Paperwork I just Wanted to ask the Pros here about their opinion on this Piece (Deal Will Be made Face to Face/the next RSC is far far away... Seller is a 60 year old man Who says he got it from a passed away relative/Watch should be from 2012 according to papers)? Thanks!!
If it is a 5digit no date Sub (fullset)? I get about 6.000 - 7.000 Euro peaks as it used to be a all-day-everyday-watch with Pretty much stretch - the 216570 should be just about the same imho. If it would be a fullset 6-digit-Sub I'd agree... Other opinions?
Ok, I see. As mentioned, my Sub is not in great condition as well. Plus: I got two of them. So: If I still would consider a trade, what Price difference would you see between the two watches?
based on your description of your Sub, I dare to say the value difference between these two watches is negligible. However, I'd be more excited to the trade (specially having two subs w/black dials) for the same EII but w/white dial.
Well I'd say my Sub is 6,5/10 - compared to the ExII which I would say is 7,5-8/10 (it's worn, but not polished etc.). Both being Fullsets with Papers/Box,... Maybe the Owner of the ExII would even be willing to pay upcash (Maybe some hundred €) - this I did not ask yet. Well, my Question above was, if the watch Looks legit - but all I got are answers comparing the market values of the watches… Still, thanks for keeping an eye on my purse
