A bit hard getting pics from the owner. But from the one pic, does it look right for a 1970 Speedy? Expected price as working with unknown service history and no papers or box? edit: ok, I see that the bezel is not straight.
I believe this was used to 1971. Hopefully others can confirm. This is from a current eBay listing. http://bit.ly/1nASQg8
I'm no expert but IMO, the dial could be original and looks in good nic, with the start of a nice patina. Hard to be sure from the pics though. At first glance I thought the hands were replacements as they are so white, but they may be original. I think if it's a 68/69 it should have a plain pre-moon caseback. 70/early71 should be the straight text shown above, and late 71 onwards should be the one shown in the sellers pic. It's hard to get a good idea of the case condition from these pics as well.
I'd want a pic of the inside of the caseback to see what number is printed in their before I bought it. That and a movement + serial no shot. That should give you a better idea of the date as well. The dial is a step dial which is also correct for an early 70's speedy.
Well it looks fine to me. Dial and bezel looks right. It is possibly the cheapest speedmaster reference.....or at least it should be, especially without a bracelet or history. The transitional back was fitted only for a short time, and in 1970. the stamped back which is marked inside was from 1971. Have a look at www.speedmaster101.com
Well, I was hoping it was a 1969-1970, but I am still thinking of a trade with my 3523.30 that he ask if I would sell when we meet a couple of days ago.
Certainly not 1969/1970 but mid 1971 and after. However it is still worth to trade with your 3523.30. Make it a straight trade and you are a true winner. edit: It still has pie pan dial so must be within 70's. A desirable feature.
Straight trade would be in your favor by about $1000 USD. Your triple date is a great watch, but if you have moon watch fever nothing else will do.
