Saw this on ebay. Looks to be in great condition. I would like your thoughts on the model, condition, authenticiy, etc.

Did you do some OWN research?

I did but I'm no expert in Longines or any other watches for that matter so looking for an expert's POV.
It seems to be authentic but I could be missing something obvious here and the seller is asking around $400, which is slightly less than what othersare going for the Admirals.

It looks excellent to me. This model was actually one of my very first vintage watches - a classic style IMO.

The 1st picture is large and detailed enought, so you can compare to similar models at www or C24 and train your eyes....for the next offer. You will find out the year and the overall condition. Edit (darken) the picture to check the case (sides, scratches...)
Ask the seller to show the movement and the caseback (inner side).

That's exactly what I did and seem to check out. I even went on the Longines site. Thanks for the feedback

Did you get it in the end? Looks great indeed.

Yes, we settled on a price. Lower than he originally posted for. Just waiting for him to ship it now.

So I received the watch the other day. looks great. Thanks for the everyone's help.

I wanted to replace the strap so I contacted Longines, and they told me their straps are model/collection specific?!?!
Is that accurate? I always thought if was the size of the lugs/straps that mattered. Am I wrong here?

That’s how they inventory the straps. It sounds like they’re not interested in selling one to you. Which is probably for the best because they would just be overpriced.

Yeah just find a strap you like with the right width (and length for smaller/larger widths).

Vintage Longines buckles are also around but there are fakes so best to ask for advice here before purchase.

Search on the forum for strap recommendations. Plenty of threads with lots of websites making great straps.
