    Evening All

I'm meant to be selling a few pieces at the minute to refocus my buying/collecting, strictly in line with a list I wrote up at the start of the year.

Naturally, what's actually happened is no sooner than I've sold a couple of watches I don't wear, I've bought another.

Anyway, apart from a Railtrack a year or two ago, I've not had a Constellation in my collection. This popped up recently, in just the condition I like, so I threw a bid in and ended up with a package at the door two days later.

I think everything's ok, but I'm not great on Connies so would appreciate a couple of second opinions.

It's a 168.005, cal 561 with dome dial. The crystal has a cyclops and is an Omega item, but I assume is incorrect? Either way l, it's cracked so ill be getting a replacement from Cousins.

What I really wanted to check was the dial. I think it's original. The font, spacing etc all looks good and consistent with what I'd expect from this period. It is however silver in colour rather than the usual off white or cream. Then again, the dome dials don't seem to be seen as often a slight the piece pans (presumably because they were/are less desirable). Any opinions here?

The case isn't pristine, with some wear and scratches but the facets are still clearly visible and it has the correct ten sided crown.

@Swiss Made, why is it blurry like that? From the crystal or dial?

Font looks OK to me but would be good to have a few pictures where the hands are obstructing the text, and yeah would be nice to see the "Swiss Made". Looks like the crystal is blurry overtop.

The crystal is damaged at the bottom.

The text for 'Swiss Made T' is as I'd expect for the mid-late 60's. I can see it from an angle using a loupe but can't get a good picture.

The lume also glows when charged as you'd expect for tritium.

I'll try and get a few better shots in daylight...

+1 looks good. You'll need a new crystal and a relume for the hands though.
I can see an "L" peeking through the lume of the minute hand. :)

    Hi David,
I've read that the cyclops was offered as an option. Below is another example also with Omega logo on crystal.

    I've had a 14902 with a fantastic silver dial:

Looks like a good watch to me. I really like it on that BOR bracelet. Wear it in good health.

Here's a couple of pictures under a loupe after I've polished the crystal.

Unfortunately it was dark by the time I got home and the crystal is still adding some slight distortion so they're not great pictures but hopefully it gives a better idea of the dial.

I cannot get a good picture of the bottom due to damage on the crystal but it's marked 'Swiss Made T'.

    Looks spot on.
-and I’ll bet the case looks so much better in real life than in macro photos.
My personal opinion would be to ditch the cyclops when you replace the crystal as they spoil the elegant simplicity of a dome dial Constellation.
Someone like @Mitka at watchguy could sensitively replace the lume in the hands.

Granted, I have a ladies C-case which measures a petite 28mm, but I quite like having the cyclops to make the date pop a bit more. Omega did it better than Rolex ever did, IMO.

    Very nice pickup!
