Hi OmegaForums! Found this on another site. Took the info from their post. 1966 Omega Constellation 168.004 Omega caliber 561 certified chronometer, 24 jewels Original dial with baton indices inlaid lume. Original silver dauphine hands with lume strip. Original crystal. There are minor scuffs on the case back however the medallion is well defined and crisp. Comes with original Omega 1503/1 beads of rice bracelet. Seller states it's recently been serviced within the last couple years They're asking $1100. I'm going to contact the seller to see how much shipping would be. What to you all think? You guys rock. .
I think this is a 35mm model. The photos are a little blurry so it is hard to tell if it's been polished. Try to see if you notice a lack in "crisp" edges to the case or caseback medallion. The stars can be a great indicator. I think a perfect model in all steel with a bracelet is worth the asking price. Consider servicing fees + shipping! I think it needs to be a $700 watch IMO + I am not an expert and have limited exp! Here to learn....just my 2 cents Best, Thomas
I wouldn't mind seeing better photos of the dial, it could well be redialed. The lume looks awfully fresh.
I believe it has been relumed. Lume on the dial is on the markers, where the onyx insert usually would be. Did Omega ever do that?
Yes, this is correct. The markers have a strip of lume going through them, relatively common on this reference and others.
Ignoring the lume there's something not right with this dial, cant put my finger on it but enough to put me off.
Did these Connies have "Tswiss made T". I thought even though the dial had tritium omega didn't put "T" on some of these models?
Agree - very minty lume. And the ‘officially’ looks thick The only decent picture has the hands in the way of the font.
IMHO the dial (with the blurry photos) looks “off”. Is it from a private seller or a dealer in a shop? OF or eBay or some other online source?
As a connie non connaisseur may I say the text is off and to thick. Look at that 'certified'. It seems sloppy work...
Some constellations can appear to have thicker fonts. As long as it's crisp and has the correct characeristics (like this example), I am inclined to say original. Just an unfortunate relume. The lume on these dials are small strips within the hour markers and they usually stay in place. Seeing the pristine condition of the dial, I doubt it was mistreated and the lume would have been intact. Probably just an overzealous watchmaker or dealer prepping the watch.
I'm a bit jealous as the dial is much better than that on my 564 version of the same watch, but perhaps I'm not as fussy as some
