Thoughts on this 1947 Longines Chronostop, previously sold at Hodinkee?

And the Hodinkee one was $29k.

So is that fair market price after all? And why are these more expensive than most 13ZNs...

How the Hodinkee bump works

1) Market price was 15K

2) Hodinkee doubles ( -1 so you don't think it's double the price 馃槜 ) for a average example with a heap of hype and a article a week or two before sale so 29K

3) All the people that have a nicer than Hodinkee think theirs is worth more so 35K

4) Hodinkee buyer sees the ones that are like he's worth more so thinks he done well and relists it for 35K

5) All watches sit unsold for over double their market price.

( Not a Hodinkee bash just a SMARTARSE observation by ME ) 馃槈

I think this paradigm also works for gilt 1675s and 1016s, esp. with "tropical" dials. These watches seem to have doubled or tripled in value within only a few years, on well-known dealers's websites.
