These are prepared watches and not correct on major components. For the price, I'd want correct parts. I guess what I'm not clear about is this: is this the going price for incomplete 105.003's now? It seems high to me for what you're getting but it's hard to keep up with speedy prices sometimes. Edit: between the two, I think the first one is better, but the case is refinished. Good job, but very fresh looking imho.

oops yes, less that "dark brown tropical" my bad would be great if he could have posted movement pics on his website though
There were a couple seemingly honest, possibly one owner Ed Whites with best bracelets that sold this summer at smaller auction houses, both around $17.5k usd if I remember correctly. Both needed a service. Seems like they'll be worth less after a service when they are no longer "one owner " watches
Hi chaps These watches are both mine, the 105.003 pictured in this post is how I found it and bought it from the original owner grandson, hence my decision to leave it as it was. I was pretty convinced the BOR was as supplied when new as that is what the owner told me and I had no reason not to believe him, especially with 19mm ends What made the watch special for me was the originality of the box and papers and whilst it has lost its DON I felt it was more honest to list it as it was found. I could easily add a DON to it, perhaps I should. The constructive feedback is always valued, probably worth a note to mentioned that when I bought it one pusher cap was missing so Simon (who I think we will all agree is a bit of an authority on these) replaced the pushers. Also worth a note that the documentation on this watch is all stamped and correct and the owners initals on the case back (who's grandson I bought the watch from) match the paperwork so for me the provenance is pretty spectacular. The 'major component' missing from the watch is the DON which as mentioned I can easily replace but as people value 'barn find' originality I listed it as I bought it from the first owner and Simon left it cosmetically as it was with the exception of the pushers. Finding good watches is a challenge as we all know, I learned some valuable lessons in this along the way, including some feedback through the forum on some of my earlier redialed purchases. Anyway, won't add any more other than to say I am always happy to supply movement shots to any potential buyers as well as high resolution images where requested either via the site, via PM through the forum or via email Best wishes Tony
Hi chaps Felt I should comment (as Tony mentioned in his listing on the watches for sale section) as the first watch in this post was one I supplied him with a while back and would happily personally vouch for, although I believe looking at the sales corner it has now sold. I've seen the other watch in person (as Tony asked me to cast an eye over it when he bought it) and was impressed by it's originality (in terms of a set with correct full papers), whats not shown on the site is that the papers are complete and match the watch, which is also engraved with the owners initials on the back. The missing DON, crown and pushers are a challenge I guess but again not something that isn't easily remedied by the vendor or the buyer. Not my job to comment on prices, I've sold enough 2998's and Ed Whites for less than £5K to say the prices of these are loony now full stop.
selling high value watches is tough. I don't envy the position... but I was curious about the 19m movement number on the '64... any insight into how that fits with expected ranges for this reference?
Many thanks @oddboy The watch isn't at home it's in the safe but I will double check tomorrow and may even order the extract to be sure, as you can see from my site I take pride in the right level of service, honesty and transparency. We've seen enough people who allegedly do if for the right reasons being kicked off the forums because their instinct for a quick buck overrides what's morally right, this will never be me. You are right it isn't easy but it is enjoyable, this is not my first business venture and I have enjoyed success in other fields, this is something that I've done from the heart and get great enjoyment from it. I started as a true novice with the right intentions, I'm learning fast and have some great friends Ive made both from within the community and outside dealers and collectors who continue to help me evolve and learn, your most welcome to PM me to discuss it privately if you wish? I guess if I base on the davidoff brothers then 19mm is within the expected range for a 1964 but for a 105.002-62 based on Williams assessment would be a 20million I have no reason to doubt the watch because of the originality of the set, the completed paperwork matching the watches and the initials on the watch back matching the paperwork, but will make doubly sure tomorrow and ultimately the extract will confirm it. Will double check the original paperwork v's simons invoice (showing 198xxxxx) tomorrow and as mentioned may order the extract to be sure, at which point I would of course update the post. As mentioned please feel free to continue this discussion via pm Best wishes Tony
