It's the only watch that has survived all my "watch purges" whenever the time comes to sell for new pieces. Great as a field beater watch. Nobody bats an eye when I wear this.
I love mine. It’s like getting brand new vintage car. I bought mine from a forum member for just under $3000 with a 1171 bracelet.
I bought mine in 2012 direct from Watchco for $2400. A great classic watch ...unfortunately if I'd bought a vintage one instead at that time it would be worth a huge amount more than my watchco now
Wearing mine now. Lost the mesh bracelet it came with (and a 2254.50 that was borrowing it ) on my Bachelor Party but the watch looks great on an isofrane strap: Has killer lume, can almost read by the light!
I'd have one in a heartbeat. I have a Watchco Japan Racing Speedmaster built by Marcus from service parts and I love it. No way I could afford a 2004 model the way they've shot up in price. It'll be interesting to see if the Watchco watches rise in value as the parts get harder to get and the genuine articles get rarer and more expensive.
I feel si ilarly about mine, also bought from a forum member (who bought t from another forum member) on an 1171 bracelet, super light and comfortable. The Lume is fantastic in a great daily wearer with a vintage vibe and no worries.
When I bought my WatchCo SM300 they had a no date in stock but I jumped on one with a black date wheel instead, and I have wished that I'd gone for the no date ever since. The date version is great, but the ND has a symmetry and charm that the date one doesn't. I had to settle for a ND SubC instead. However, now that I've grown used to it with the date wheel, and it's fabulous accuracy, and I know it's history, I'd likely keep it vs trading for a ND...
When Watchco was in Melbourne I was talking to Rob about finding one of these and Marcus had just come back from Switzerland with some goodies so they built me one with a "NOS" movement and the SM300 service parts. My Darlin' dropped in to Watchco on her way home from work and picked it up for me. Waiting for her to come home that day was worse than staking out the letterbox for the courier, and she couldn't understand why I was so happy to see her come in the door .
