I was recently able to pick up a 1039 bracelet for a (relatively) nice price. It's rather short (only 3 stretch links included), but I have relatively small wrists, so it (almost) works. Regardless, based on the price, it was a worthwhile buy.

After having worn it for a couple days, I have to say, I'm in love. I've been wearing it on a (WatchCo) SM300, and a 145.022, and it is absolutely beautiful on both. I would imagine that many only appreciate this bracelet because of it's place in Omega's lineup, as it's a pretty flimsy piece, but there's something wonderful about it nonetheless. The fact that links can be added/removed without tools, the way it catches the light. Despite its flimsy nature, I'm quite smitten with it.

In the near future I'll be looking for a full length replacement (unless anyone here has a spare link or two to sell), but until then, I'll enjoy the one I have, and just pray that I don't gain any weight.

Yup, I think they look great on sm300's and 60's Speedmasters - they just look 'right.' Quite comfortable, although I do find they catch the hair on my arm a lot!

They do that to me constantly and don't sit right for me :(

I think its just that they're so light compared to the head so the head flops around a bit on mine.

I have a 1039 for my 60's speedy but don't use it, partly because its age and fragility (I want to keep it in good condition), and partly it just didn't look right to me with the Speedy. I'm not saying its not a comfortable bracelet, just that for me it didn't work. I like heavy bracelets, so the flat profile and relatively narrow 1039 links just look too feminine to my eyes. I suspect it would work for me on a dress watch, or a smaller case watch.

i had a 1039 on my speedy originally. it was so pinchy that I couldn't stand it. I sold it to a guy needing an original for his watch.

I had a 1039 on each of my 105.012 Speedy's, and a 1035 (19mm ends) on my 105.003. I found they were very comfortable, and looked most appropriate for the vintage of the Speedies.
They feel flimsy, and cost a lot (mine were $700 and $800 for the two 1039's, and the 1035 was on the watch already). On an old thread I asked whether I should wear them or save them, and opinions were pretty evenly mixed.
So I wore them and loved it!

My apologies for the lack of a pic. Admittedly, it's not perfect on the SM300 since it's a WatchCo, and obviously much less worn than the 1039, but I love the combo regardless. While it is indeed thin and flimsy, it just looks "right" (to me), and reminds me of something my grandfather would have worn.

Regardless of issues regarding its strength or heft, that bracelet simply makes the watch pop!!! IMHO mind you...

I have two vintage Speedys on the 1039 and a SM300 on a 1035, have to say they fit perfectly to the watches, i tried a lot of other things but always came back to them. I also like the Ref 1118/1098, so i try to keep the watches on time period correct bracelets.

I love my 1039 as well. I have also adjusted it to fit on my skinny wrist. Looks great with a vintage SM300.
