Thoughts on New Old Stock (NOS) vintage watches? Considering a vintage rose gold 50's IWC

    Hi everyone,

Wondering what people's thoughts were on NOS vintage watches? Particularly considering some rose gold IWC's from the 50's. See these 2 links:

    https://www.chrono24.com.au/iwc/new...ugs--18k-rose-gold-37-mm--1950--id4937034.htm

    https://www.chrono24.com.au/iwc/new...ugs--18k-rose-gold-37-mm--1950--id4659957.htm

for all intensive purposes, they do seem exactly the same as original models, and are a decent bit cheaper - but obviously there's an inherent risk in that the cases (the NOS part) could not be actual IWC parts.

    Thoughts?

Tossing this up versus an original model for sale seen attached in the photo below... which is around 40% more expensive (probably justifiably so)

I don't think there's anything in particular about these that suggest that they are truly new old stock. Also the absence of "SWISS" at the bottoms of the dials is suspicious for their being redials.

I agree that the price is too high. However, neither of the two on Chrono24 are new or old stock. Both have been refurbished from top to bottom, and that includes inaccurate redials that are way too white.

what do you think of this guy? I'd love to get your input :) seems legit to me, although the dial is very very clean. the seller is reputable though and has quite a lot of sales on ebay

A watch from the 50s that looks like a watch from 2016 is a watch from 2016.

Just looking at it, if youre honest with yourself, you know its not right.

There are some beautiful modern watches and some beautiful vintage watches. Choose accordingly.

If you want a blend theres nothing wrong with that either, but just accept it and enjoy it.
