    I have been on the hunt for one of these since missing out on the one for sale in the private sales forum. Are there concerns with this one? I have compared to several other black dialed Constellations, but I know i should be weary of nice black dials in constellations. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

    I'm a novice still finding my way, but for what it's worth, I would not buy it. The type does not look right. In Chronometer, the first "o " is too large and the two F's in officially are too short. There are other things not quite right. But that would be enough for me. Interesting to see what the experienced pro's think.

    That initially worried me too, but then I compared to one that I missed in the for sale forum, same "OFF." Here's a zoomed in pic from that ad.

    Looks fine to me. If the price is reasonable I would buy it.

    Thanks!

    I spend more time on Desmond's site than I care to admit ::book:: but the black dials worry me

    It looks good but I would have expected a "T" or two down at the "Swiss made" - as it looks like there is lume on hands and at indexes? But it is difficult to see from the photo. Are there lume at the dial indexes (hands could have been changed at a service so they are less important in this matter)?

    Edit: according to Desmond the "T": s started when they went from radium based lume to tritium. This was done, also according to Desmond, around late 1963. Check the serial number for approximate year of manufacture.

    It looks great, except (possibly!) for the slighty off-centre twelve o'clock marker. Or is it just me imaging things?

    Thank you - I was wondering about the t's also, but I saw some pictures without. Serial is 20.39M, which is right around 1963 according to chronomaddox.

    Your watch is beautiful ::love::
