You don't have to appreciate them, just how I feel. I am sorry we disagree. I am thankful someone just went to the listing instead of spending their time instructing me how to post on a forum. Much more was accomplished that way.
Dude, I’m a newbie on this site, having joined but 2 months ago. I’m on drum forums (been gigging professionally for over 30 years), on marketing forums (my other career!) and on road bike forums. And nowhere have I come across a group of dedicated passionate folks like on this OF site. Never. These folks offer their expertise, earned from years of collecting and making the mistakes you and I are trying to avoid. They provide this on their time - for our benefit. Barging in and expecting the experts to follow your rules? No, it doesn’t work that way. It’s not all about you. Thats not cricket, as they say.

I snipped eBay pics last weekend in order to get feedback on a watch I ultimately purchased. A smalll effort to make it easy on my audience. I was asking THEM for the favour. Took maybe 2 minutes. I’ll enjoy the watch for much, much longer.

Make it easy, and have the photos posted here for reference and to help others learn down the road, and you will get more responses/ assessments.

I agree it's not about "rules" per se, but to me the important thing is that the threads where people can learn don't become useless once the listing disappears from eBay.

If I am going to spend my time assisting someone in a way that benefits just that one person, or help in away that will benefit many, I will chose the way that helps many every time. The OP doesn't get it and that's fine - if he wants to leave I'm fine with that. But if he would stop for a moment and give it some thought he would understand that in helping him we can help others too, if only he would take a couple of minutes to post the photos instead of just a link. Fine to post the link as well, but the photos should be posted to ensure they stay.

But some people are more takers than givers I guess...

Yes I do deserve everything, sheesh, you did not know that? And I totally get it, I have been drumming just as long, building drums, and restoring vintage BMW motorcycles for many years. The HiFi people are by far the most passionate by the way. And I have given for many, many years, in the way of advice, tools, free or very cheap parts, just to keep the hobbies I love and enjoy flourishing, as well as appreciating all the help I received from others along the way. So spare me the ridicule, I don’t need it or deserve it. I posted the link so that ALL of the info could be digested about said watch, not just the photos. So thank you again to the one member who did look at the listing, sight his/her thoughts and report back. I’m in contact with the seller now. The only thing I can thank the rest of you for is critique and aggravation, so I’ll delete my account and be one my way.

No, based on this reply you still don't get it. Despite people trying to explain why we prefer to have pictures posted in the thread, you continue to ignore the reasoning, or just don't care.

When I click on an eBay link, 9/10 it doesn t load. I don' know if this is a because of poor internet connection or my phone. I am by no means very knowledgeable but would like to help if possible anyone who posts on here.

To the OP......... you come across as an arsehat, if you weren't deleting your account I would hope that the mods banned you for being a dick.

It's one thing to be a dick (I should know) and quite another to be an ungrateful, condescending dick.

Thats true, I think most of us have posted things that do not show us in the best light, but the way to deal with it is to put your hands up, apologies and start again.

Interesting hobby you have there. Later dicks!
‘Interesting hobby you have here’, not ‘there’. You missed a comma after ‘Later’. Grammar is another interesting hobby of mine.::rimshot::

I would like to contribute to this discussion by saying that after buying 54 omega's in a row I bought a IWC. I admit and I'm sorry.

How does this person have no likes?
This site is mostly men and men don't generally like dicks?

I think he started off with a chip on his shoulder before even posting due to the typos he made when creating his username 76douche

Since "deuce" is misspelt, here are a few profiles online with the same user name. Mostly with the same MO, asks for help on forum or sells stuff, then disappears.

There's a "Larry" with the same user name on the bmw 2002 faq site with an Irritating avatar, not a lot of activity... selling parts mostly

https://www.bmw2002faq.com/profile/33903-76duece/

Also a profile on bimmer forums, also not a lot of activity;

https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?94776-76duece

Here he is asking for advice on a hi fi forum;

This could be him on a singles side...yeah, can't figure out why you're still single? Lying with your very first sentence don't help..

Here he is on the vintage drum forum, also flogging parts, when he is active.

Asking for help again
