Thoughts on a 2737

Hi all!

I’ve come across what seems to be a 2737SC that looks quite attractive to me. When I tried to get infos on the reference, there was not much about it but « rare » and « omega tresor » came back quite often 😁
Is it indeed a rare bird? It seems to be a nice 36mm « jumbo » and has a 11M serial

on this particular example, it is said all original but the crown (was apparaisse by a watchmaker but no idea how « specialist » he is…). The case seems rather sharp and the honeycomb dial nicely patinated.
Does it seem right?
How hard would it be to find the fitting crown?
Thanks!

In my opinion is a very nice watch, I don't spot any defects but I am not an experts. I am curios if the other members with more experience will spot something that is not ok. I Do not think will be very difficult to spot the right crown.

Indeed I think this is a very nice example and original - sans the crown as you mentioned. I believe these came with the angular hexagonal? crown you'd see on pie-pan Constellations of the period as well. While I haven't seen an example with a honeycomb dial, it doesn't mean this is a franken. I'd go for it if the price was alright!

I have no particular knowledge of this reference but this doesn't look original to me. Happy to be corrected though

You mean the alignment (or lack of)? 😁

it wouldn’t be the first omega from that era with this kind of issue…
The seller is asking 1.2k€. No idea what to think of it, she has an appraisal from a watchmaker for 1.5k

Nah - it's an original dial. If you are referring to the printed index at 12:00, keep in mind that is centered from end of each applied index.

The model is not often found with such a nice, unpolished case. Those lugs are typically over-polished, and the interesting angles are obscured.

I thought so too! The case seems nice and sharp!
How does it seem price wise?

Assuming that the movement is in very good or better condition, I'd say that the price is fair. It would certainly be higher through most dealers.

No, this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/132462808840

But the one you shared appears to be more correct for your watch.

The price is really high but if it's what your watch originally came with and you will keep it forever, it might be worth it to you.

I believe this is the crown you need.

This is on a 2866.
