Hi OF!

I stumbled upon this vintage 166.024 and would like to know what you guys think, I have been looking at the seamaster 300 guide over at https://www.omegaseamaster300.com/, being pretty novice with this reference it has been of great help but still I would like your expert's advice if possible regarding authenticity/if all the parts seem genuine or if there are any red flags to worry about here.

What I'm worried about:
-The seller mentions that the watch will need servicing, any idea of the cost to service the 565 movement?
-The bezel is in very worn condition, that's fine to me but the seller mentions that it is very stiff, possibly caused by water damage in the description so that's not ideal.
-The only one that I can think of after a quick look is the dial that does not seem to fit with the ones seen on the guide, here is a small triangle dial with a date window, the date window outline looks a bit weird to me.

Here's the description from the seller:
"This watch will need servicing to the movement, movement is in mint condition but I don't think it's ever been serviced. Hour hand gets stuck at 4:00.
The bezel is very stiff, and seems to have water damage or just age deterioration.
Light scuffs on crystal and watch, but very light, doesn't have much wear and tear, I would go so far as to call the case "minty". It really is very nice.
The dial is also super clean, no marks detectable by my eye.
After some TLC this will be a very nice Seamaster for someone. The lume is weak."

Thanks for reading, I'll be thankful for any advice!

Knackered bezel on a ‘perfect’ case, 😕.

As others have said, this is fake. The only thing real is the 565. This exact watch with these exact photos has been sold a few times…I recall seeing it a few months back.

Thanks for the help!

For my own expertise next time, what are the big giveaways that this is a fake watch?

Compare the various parts of the watch to the photos on the website you mentioned and train your eye to recognize the differences.

This. There are many issues with this watch -- you'll have to look carefully at first but then you'll be able to spot them more easily. To prime you a little: caseback writing, look at the lug length & profile. There are many things...not even going to say anything about the dial.
The worn bezel initially throws you off, but that is also not genuine.

These are getting more prevalent. Similar to the fake SM120’s they’re also now being artificially aged in an attempt to pass them off as old, worn but genuine watches.

The main tells for me are the quality of the caseback enscrption, case profile and bezel notches.
