Recently bought this pretty cheap .Wondering your thoughts on it as im a newbie watch guy. Cal 351 g6213 which i gather is american cased .Curious to hear your thoughts on it .Is it a redial? Its a neat little village you guys have here. I think itll occupy far too much of my time
Redial, or the dial is from a different watch, this type of snap back is not a Seamaster case, not waterproof.
This is what the research in Omega Vintage Data Page brings for G 6213: The watch was obviously for the US market. The data base mentions a cal. 354 but the cal. in the OP is a 351 Not unusual because they tried to save on customs by chosing a movement with lower jewl count.
Ill try to take some better lit macros today for you guys to have a closer look .And thanks for taking an interest
Are you having a bad day? Did i insult your family somewhere along the way? I am looking for insights, not insults. If this watch offends you to the core so emphatically, perhaps you should stay off the internet. As i stated im new to this, and looking to learn . om looking for honesty, but your anger and crassness seems very out of place here Thanks for your input
@Osmegahead, you are saying complete nonsense. The movement is genuine, as well as the case. The dial looks ok to me, though I would be surprised a Seamaster came in a snap case without gasket. As the Omega data given by @mac_omega seems to show, this ref rather belongs to the international collection. But with Omega who knows! Maybe @gatorcpa will have more info.
Regardless, you have some serious rotor wear going on - look at both the outer edge of the rotor and the inner case
I am replying because this may well degenerate into a wonderful keyboard joust between two Noobs and I want to see it. Have at it boys.
I may be a watch noob, but im not a troll noob. He got a couple responses from me, but sorry to i form you the shows over from my end . If only you guys had an ignore button.....
With the exception of that one guy, this place is a great wealth of information, although in the end i think its going to cost me a great deal of money . In a short couple weeks ive gone from having a cheap watch fall into my lap to actively looking at $3000 watches .My wife is going to resent all of you
Do I perceive that Osmegahead’s “contributions” to this thread have been deleted by the moderators? Irrespective of his crass comments, I think the Omega is a pretty darn nice watch. A meaningful assessment of the watch would likely have been forthcoming had the watch been offered for sale. Unfortunately, you would need 200 posts to list it for sale here. But had this watch been offered for sale, it’s nice enough that a bunch of folks would have been all over it like a duck on a June bug, Regarding the rubbing rotor. Is it the lighting, or is one of the two screws that hold the bridge over the auto wind mechanism, missing? If so, replacing the screw might reduce the amount of rotor rub.
