Hi

I own an Omega Geneve Dynamic which i want to sell but i do not know what price to ask for it. I checked on eBay for sold listing but i did not find an exact match and for the active listings and similar models the price differ very much so i will appreciate a honest opinion. Also if you spot defects please tell me so i will have a fair description.
I bought the watch a while ago, i did not service it and i do not know the service history of the watch. The watch runs well and i think it's fit with the original band and buckle but for that i will also wait for opinions.
Here are the pictures which i made ..sorry if there are not very good but i am not a great photograph.
Thank you.

Did you try tool 107 as a search parameter?

I just got a ladies model without day date for cheap. Spread across 3 auctions I have about 160USD in it, unserviced. Such includes an extra 566-0015 core.

There are some sellers asking gents prices for ladies models. I noticed in my searches that a lot of sellers use the marks on the back thinking that is a case ref number.

Most examples I am seeing have just the date window. I am not a fan of date windows. I have been following closely dynamic listing as I have a cracked 30mm dial with no date window. Searching info on these is tricky as the same case core is used for different models.

There is a chart somewhere that decodes the first three numbers. 1 is gents 5 is ladies, I forget what the other two are. Sometimes one can play around with these numbers on the omega vintage site. I have not opened my case yet but I suspect it i s a 565-0015 note that the omega vintage site search needs all four digits for the last group of numbers with the hyphen in between.

This is some reference data I have been using:
CASE REF 566.015 caliber 680/681 670 no date (Dm= 17.5mm, Do= 18.0mm H= 5.3mm)

CASE REF 166.039 165.039 135.033 136.033 caliber 550/552/565 750 600/601 (Dm= 27.9mm, Do= 28.4mm H= 4.5mm)

I did a search on sold listings for omega dynamic day date and got back a caliber reference of 1022. Looking up on ranfft, would put the wach in the 1972 to 1984 era. Using this a a ref we can then come up with a possible omega case ref ST 166-0108

This in turn gives us some sold listings

just for fun when I clicked on the active link I got this. Not sure it is real, but outside my budget

OPs watch would be a ref 166.079 cal 750/752, see note below.

166.079 cal 750, 17J/752, 24J, no separator between the day and date.

166.108 cal 1020, 17J/1022, 23J, separator between the day and date.

As already noted, sold listings on eBay are one of the best current value indicators. I personally put the earlier models with the 5xx and 7xx movements above the later ones with the 10xx movements in desirability and value.

Yes i forgot to mention that is a large mens watch not the small lady model. I think it has about 41mm width. So thank you for the reference number 166.079 because i did not had the knowledge to open the watch. Now it will be easier to look for similar watches on chrono24 and eBay.

Opening these is not easy. I got the tool and have the spare case to practice on. I am not going to open mine until I am ready to work on it. I did figure yours was the larger gents watch as I do not think there is a day/date in the smaller calibers. Of course I am often wrong. Some of this is subtle like the separation between the day and date. I am not quite sure what I will do with my dial which is for the larger style. Perhaps some day I will find one that needs a dial (without date opening.)
