Hello,

I have come across a vintage 135.027 seamaster 120 on eBay and was wondering what other’s opinions were in the authenticity of the piece. I have read quite a bit on here on key points to look for, and from my eye there appear to be somethings correct and some things somethings wrong.

Mainly the case back has caught my eye as being wrong. Between the bold “seamaster” text. Strong/deep looking engraving. Sharp pointed “A”s. And the overall design of this engraving compared to others has be believing it’s not real.

Let me know what you guys think! Definitely trying to learn more on what too look for on these watches!

The caseback is fake.
It’s strange because the rest of the watch seems to look ok.
Best case scenario just the caseback is fake and the rest is genuine but there’s a real risk that there are other fake parts too that are either well disguised or the fakers have simply gotten better with the latest batch.

Dial is a bit concerning , it looks too new on a worn watch .
the crown is not original .

The caseback is fake.

They got the inside writing really good 😨 (except for the finishing ) but the outer writing isn’t , strange .

Thanks for the reply’s everyone! Did not end up getting the watch. I’ve seen a few threads on here where a similar case back did not seem to raise too much concern. I thought the font on the exterior, lack of “waterproof” and the inside finishing all didn’t look right. Is there something else to be looking for on these case backs to tell?
