I'm looking at this Constellation but can't work out if it's genuine or a refinish. The dial to my untrained eye looks good but has no lume and is marked "T Swiss made T". The hands are lume filled so is the dial correct? Thanks for the help
Not a great pic, but looks like the dial has been redone to me. Letter heights are inconsistent, and "Constellation" text is pretty thick. Hard to judge the lume as well, as it would be dots at the outer ends of the markers. It looks like there may be lume on the hands (although color does not look old). I would definitely want better photos.
Need better pics of the outward-facing ends of the markers to see if there may be lume dots. The macros are great for assessing the text, but the marker ends are out-of-focus.
Hands look a bit short(?) Aren't these pie pan hands? Shouldn't it reach the minute track? The more I look the more I suspect these are short...
Fonts look good Black insert indices would never have lume originally Looks like someone changed the hands for shorter ones with lume and added the Ts to match BTW the case is quite heavily polished. What's the medallion like? Do you have movement/inner case back pics? If you've already bought it - Change the hands for the correct length with black inserts and pretend the Ts aren't there (or have them carefully removed)
Good dial, may be NOS. Wrong hands. The dial looks very good for this case. I think that original one was replaced.
What makes you draw that conclusion @Temprus ? Plenty of tiny patina dots on the dial on the dial in the macros. Lots of these dome dials have survived in better condition than that whilst some 'well-meaning' watchmaker has polished the hell out of a case.
