Looking for a daily wear watch. Something that will look good with jeans or shorts and t shirt. I think my wife and I have narrowed it down to around 4 watches, in no particular order

    1. IWC Mark XVIII top gun (looks a little like a Timex to me)
    2. Omega SM300 MC
    3. Rolex Air King
    4. This is where my wife and I disagree she likes Rolex Explorer, I like GO Senator

So any opinions, thought/suggestions from the crowd?

The GO Senator. Very nice watch, not as common as the others, and the wife learns a valuable lesson.

I agree but for an every day with casual jeans wear? I would go with the Omega SM300.

I am in the Senator group as well with the Seamaster a very close second.

The GO Senator or SM 300MC would be my final two.

Not a fan of the new Air King at all and agree that the Top Gun doesn't look that special. The Explorer 1 is a solid third option for me.

OK, out of this group, if I were buying a watch, I love the GO; however, for a daily wearer, I like the versatility of the Omega followed up closely by the Explorer. The IWC is really. really cool, but I don't know that it could go for "daily wearer" for me.

Glashutte Original Senator would be my first choice, Omega Seamaster a close second.

Considered looking at the IWC Fliegerchronograph 3706 ?

Seriously cool, immaculate timekeeping, & impressive wrist presence ( IMHO )

On the metal bracelet , of course……widely regarded as the most comfortable bracelet in existence

Thanks for the suggestion, I am just not a chronograph person. If I did get a chrono it would probably be a speedmaster :)

I must say I am surprised the GO Senator is leading the pack. I was having worries about it because I dress down a lot. I am 80% of my time in shorts/t's, 15% jeans/polo and less than 5% higher end clothes.

I expect I will get the seamaster although I still have some reservations on its thickness. Also Archer's post about the recent problems with the coaxials has me a little concerned.

For sure the IWC is out, I think this style of watch may be in my future but I will probably get a Stowa or Muhle.

Also now considering a used Spectre SM300 vs the Ti one.

I would go with the Explorer because it can dress up and down more easily than the rest. The GO Senator looks very dressy to me for an everyday watch, unless you wore suits every day.

There is no debate that the GO is top tier out of the group you suggested. But you you said you wanted an every day wearer, which would put the GO in an awkward position. Just my view of course and thus why I proposed the SM300.

Can you share the link to Archers posts about coaxial problems? I have the first generation 2500 last iteration "D" version for the past 7 years and yet to see any issues. It runs more accurate than my 2016 SubC Date.

Well I don't want to put words in Archers mouth, He just said there may be a problem with the anti-magnetic watches. So I don't think the 2500 is included. https://omegaforums.net/threads/a-look-at-some-defective-parts.62631/#post-784069

That just means that the omega anti-magnetic may actually magnetize, which is a non issue for me, because they stay within master chronometer specification. I've read that whole thread - I won't hesitate in purchasing the SM300.

Worrying less than I made it sound. But I really don't think that thread is about magnetization of watches. Its more about wear and oil discoloration.

4 no dates, so why not a 5 digit no date sub? The GO may not fit the daily wear based on your outline of what you wear. I'm not the best person to ask, though as I wear all my watches every day.

I was in the same situation a while ago. I have made up my mind as to which one to buy just haven't bought it yet.
Seamaster 300 MC and Rolex Explorer were on my list, along with two other models. The decision was made after I visited an OB and an AD, and tried the watches on my wrist.

So, try them on your wrist and get the one that sings to you.

That's the problem, they all sing :D Anyway I tried them all on yesterday (and many more) that is my wrist in the photos.

I hate to say it but I think I need to rule the Rolex watches out. In my situation it may seem pretentious to people I am around. I could wear a 50K a lange sohne and no one would bat an eye, but the cheapest Rolex will gain attention.
