I can probably Google this, but anyone want to explain what I'm looking at? I like to think that I'm fairly knowledgeable about pre-moon Speedies, but I know nothing about the other watches that have made it to the moon.
The Bulova going up for auction was worn by Dave Scott during his 3rd EVA after his Speedmaster lost its crystal on his 2nd EVA.
Can someone Identify the model number of this watch. I love the styling and want one for my collection.
It was a prototype that never went into production. You are going to have to dig real deep into your pockets if you want this model.
I've just been reading a number of the old threads on this watch and am sorry to hear that it is a one off. I really like the look and styling with the slimline pushers. I will have to see how deep my pockets go! Failing that, Bulova should investigate a relaunch on this one. Cheers, Buster
Will indeed be interesting to see how high this one goes. "Flown" items generally command quite a premium, if the documentation is solid.
This one goes pretty high I bet. From their announcement. "Because this is the only lunar surface worn watch that can be legally sold, RRAuction anticipates intense around-the-world media attention."
Yeahhh, I'll stick with my Speedmaster that could have gone to the moon if I had followed my childhood dreams and tried to become an astronaut. Same thing, right?
By very, very, very, very deep pockets...what kind of money are we talking about? Any ideas what this watch might fetch?
