This seller is willing to go down to $775 for me. This would be my first Omega and I know that I'll need to get it serviced. I also noticed that the crown would need to be replaced to an original Omega.

70's Vintage Omega

The price isn't crazy, I just wish the photos were better to judge condition. The dial appears to have some spots, darkened lume, and maybe some minor damage around the lume. This might be negligible on the wrist, but it's hard to say. And we really can't say much about the condition of the movement.

I wouldnt buy it without well focused photos of case and dial and movement.

I think you should consider the service cost in your purchase. Omega can get expensive, and vintage Omega can be very expensive, I have a 2016 Planet Ocean at Nesbits in Seattle for a 5 year service and its setting me back 1600. Just something to consider,.

This is a very odd first post - even if it was well meant.

You are correct that anybody buying a vintage watch should assume it requires a service unless credible proof is provided to say otherwise and I understand that Nesbit’s can be quite pricey.

However, I have ‘several’ Omega Constellations and a basic service costs around £200.
Even with the replacement of a significant part I’ve never paid more than £500 and that was only once.

That ding on the bezel at 10 would bother me. I did it. Not so much, but buying. Yeah

Could you elaborate what work was done, sounds like there were also parts replaced which normally don't have to be replaced?

Why isn't your watch at Omega Service Center for a $700 service? 2016 PO is not vintage by any stretch.

To OP: The ratchet wheel screw (part #2718) doesn't look original. Makes me wonder who serviced that watch and potential damage from the service elsewhere in the movement. I would absolutely require sharp photos before buying.

This is what this screw (the large one) is supposed to look like - it's flat.

Before purchasing - I would want to see the case back, for sure. There are no pictures in the listing but the seller says “ …major scratches on the caseback”
