A package arrived at the door this morning..

I picked this up quite cheaply recently and I really like it! It's going to need a service for sure as it keeps beating and then stops and starts back up again.. It might be that it's not been worn for a looong time.. :)

Dial is a nice eggshell white..

    Some wear on the lugs..

Could be a very early re-dial but going to send it to Christian for a little light maintenance..and perhaps a new crown..not sure.. Not really sure about the hands either as I've seen so few of these dress Ranchero..

Going to get a freshly cut brown lizard strap for it wear..

I have a lot of 'time' on my hands...learning Brahms Requiem and scouring watch websites..it's an education! ;)

    Nice.

FYI - This style dial usually did not have the big hour hand found on the military style dials.

The style is basically correct, they're just a bit short.

The hour hand should extend to the tip if the dagger and the minute hand should come all the way out to the minute track.

Dial is original and not a repaint and the case looks in decent shape too. Nice pick up especially at the price.

    Thanks! :D

I know it was a gamble...But I had a gut feeling and decided to just make an offer...The seller had a feeling it was worth a bit more...but...I used all powers of persuasion...;)

A big thanks to YOU for your input, much appreciated!

Had the Ranchero checked out at STS.

Confirmed original Ranchero with original dial. I was told that it was rare to have them in this condition. So all in all a good buy! :) chuffed with this!

Checking some of my watches over in the lab.

Such a great place, and the staff are so helpful, Simon (omega tech) gave me some free 18mm spring bars, and cleaned out some debris from the rancheros lug holes. Then cleaned my Seamasters dial - All for free! :)

all good with the dial. hands are the correct style, but too short. should be no problem, finding longer ones. my omega watchmaker in sydney might have a pair somewhere.... case wear fine, mvmt. good. nothing to spend ... congratulations ! any idea, which country the factory delivered it to? kind regards. achim
