·Newly arrived today, and I'm really pleased! After messing around with wristwatches long enough even a numbskull like me starts to figure out what he likes. This went toe-to-toe with some stiff competition (mostly vs IWC) while I was whittling down the field of candidates.
This is the Navitimer B01 in the 43mm case (41mm and 46mm are also in the catalog).
First impressions:
The fit on my 18cm / 7.0" wrist is sublime. Reviews said two things about that: 1) don't let the size deter me, and 2) watches like the Navitimer should have "presence". Those were both accurate.
The look in person is tons of fun. You know how the new "First Omega In Space" presents sorta like a Speedmaster Pro in chic clothes? This Navitimer comes off a lot like that.
The controls are very good. Operations via the crown are all crisp and solid; chronograph buttons are snappy and precise; the date display flips over instantaneously, with no "creep" beforehand. The deployant clasp feels sturdy and secure, and conforms perfectly to my wrist.
Just one photo for today, but I'll come back with more later. Cheers!
