Great stuff. Reminds me of a rare Breguet Sympathique clock that was in a fire, experts said it was unrestoreable but a young watchmaker by the name of Michel Parmigiani said he could save it. He did, and I believe this is now in the Patek Philippe Museum.

Hmmm...the one I have photos of from the PP museum isn't black, but wood grained...

Interesting video - unfortunately no indication of what was replaced, which I suspect was a great deal. Certainly new dial, hands, crystal, date indicator, and likely the bulk of the movement, other than the plates and bridges. The work is mostly case refinishing and cleaning up those plates and bridges.

It would be nice to see you are right. I see the watch maker was wearing a Rolex!

But what if this amber colored tape/resin for protecting the lugs while changing spring bars? (They we’re also using it when refinishing the case.)
