hi everyone

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4 pm EDT Sunday ....

Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch you want to chat about.

Be Safe

Good Hunting

I think Greg mentioned this model in the video you posted, Bill. So I thought I would be fun to discuss.

Chronomat B01 42
Stainless Steel & Platinum - Ice Blue -9,250k usd, Discuss...

And while we are at it.

$4,750...

There are some nice colorways in the line up, and I know the second is a cheap shot, I just do not understand the platinum.

As mentioned before, my Furlan Marri “Tasti Tondi” has finally arrived in Manila. It hasn’t left my wrist since I got it.

Also since it is National Heroes Day, a public holiday in the Philippines just want to share with you an antique pocket watch from 1900s emblazoned with the portrait of nationalist and writer José Rizal (1861-1896) that was recently auctioned off at León Gallery, a leading local auction house in the Philippines. It has retailed for Estrella del Norte, a noted high-end watch retailer that was the main distributor for Omega and Elgin. This one has an Elgin movement with a custom made dial.

"Ca. Ø55mm, ca. 109g, silver case, glazed on both sides, lever movement, face with display of time, back with display of world time and day/ night. The record-breaking number of about 150 cities and islands are visible on the back, among them the most important stations of the Trans-Siberian Railway, each marked with a circle. The lateral crown is used to set the position of the day/ night disc, which rotates across this local directory. The watch is in good condition and in working order, but the enamel dial on the face has hairlines. The 'Hora-Universa' is certainly one of the rarest world time pocket watches from around 1900. Only a few examples are known. Another of these watches was auctioned by Dr. Crott in 2016 (source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/xg7)."
