Just FYI . This is still a work in progress.....
The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversation.. Having collectors either email me a photo of their watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about it in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exists ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 3:00 pm DST Sunday ....

Something new this week !

DESCRIPTION: EPW - Omega, Swiss, Grade CCR, rare Canadian railroad watch inspector marked dial signed "Geo. G. Nettleton G.T.R. & N.Y.C. Inspectors, Ottawa," "Ls. Brandt & freres S.A" marked mvt, 51mm (16S for North American market), gold-filled OF Canadian-made recase with initials to rear, white enamel DS dial with Canadian market 13 to 24 hour numerals, SW-LS, lever escapement, jeweled barrel arbor, 19J, wavy pattern nickel damascene, s#5226595. Comes as pictured with its original Louis Brandt & Frere marked fitted wooden box which contains its "Very Satisfactory" rating certificate and paper from the Bienne Official Controlment Offices for the Rating of Watches, with both documents dated 1920 and marked with correctly matched movement serial number. A very interesting example of this high grade Omega product for Canadian railroad use, highlighted by both its watch inspector signed dial and by the rarely seen box and rating certificates.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plate surfaces, few fine to micro-fine scratches, small bit of finish loss to barrel bridge adjacent central barrel bridge screw; dial with outer chapter fractures between 3 and 5 with associated few small flakes of material loss at 3:30 and some small areas that look to have been stabilized with glue in this area, additional hls and fine scratches elsewhere; excellent hands; case shows very light wear, shallow dent below-left of rear center, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; clean plastic crystal; box shows light wear, some typical scattered scratches and abrasions to exterior, button latch good.
