hi everyone

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4 pm EDT Sunday ....

THINGS WITH SPRINGS CH CHAT 10/02/22
Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch, timepiece , clock etc you want to chat about.

Be Safe

Good Hunting

I also ran into some watches for sale locally. These were the two that interested me the most. Still thinking about it. My wife and I are looking to buy a new house, so the timing may not be the best.

I spotted this Omega 166.087 using a cal. 1002 with the serial number 32203573 on it. He wants £200 but, the crown has issues adjusting the time and date and winding so it would definitely need a service. Would you avoid?

Something is def bad with the time change... Not sure what the cost of repair would be on this.

Odd it is a Trit dial and hands, not marked Swiss Made T

Here’s another one I’ve spotted. This is only £117 at the moment and ends in less than a day. I quite like the quirkyness of this one. Again, should I avoid?

This is a really funny one that I saw on eBay. A solid 18ct gold 1956 Omega Constellation which was a gift from the Saudi Arabian King Faysal. cal. 505, 24 jewels, straight line lever escapement, mono metallic balance, shock absorber, self compensating flat balance spring. Case and movement signed. 35mm, 11mm thick.

Apropos of our IWC pocket watch discussion, here is one I inherited from my father, ca 1928.

A nice Omega bumper movement cal. 351 dated between 1950 and 1959. 35 x 41mm case. Lug width 18mm. Golden Watch hands, original buckle. Plexiglass.
Is this a redial? They say they’ll accept $900.
