Hello Everyone

Just FYI . This is still a work in progress.....
The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversation.. Having collectors either email me a photo of their watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about it in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exists ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 3:00 pm DST Sunday ....

Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch, timepiece , clock etc you want to chat about.

Join the room !

Hi all
Hello Everyone!

I was up visiting old university friends. They mentioned that the Willard House and Clock Museum was a town over ! I went to the site and I was stunned that Patrick Mont from Chelsea Clock company was giving a presentation yesterday afternoon …. I always wanted to meet Patrick and I was 30 mins away and would make most of his presentation!

From their web site

“Meet Patrick Mont, David G. Gow Scholarship recipient and Chelsea Clock factory trained clockmaker for a special presentation:
"Chelsea Clock Company:145 Years of Boston Clockmaking"
Hear about history and evolution of the Chelsea clock and the company from it's origin through to the present day. This is story of the most enduring marine clock, made by America's last (factory) clockmaker, with deep Massachusetts roots.
Learn more about Patrick here: https://willardhouse.org/
scholarship-recipients “

I made it to the event with mins to spare but was unable to stream the event , my phone was out of power so I was able to charge it at the museum and was able to take photos after the presentation.

It was a great presentation and Patrick set up a great display of “ Boston marine style clocks “ that spanned 145 years …..

I also had a chance to walk thru the museum …..

It was a great time !

It was nice to actually talk with Patrick as opposed to conversations on Facebook groups.

We even took a picture together ! Like I said a banner day !

I highly recommend visiting the Willard museum.

Patrick , great presentation and was an honor to meet you ! Additionally thanks to the Willard House for making the event possible !

Good hunting and spread the passion !
