hi everyone

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4 pm EDT Sunday ....

THINGS WITH SPRINGS CH CHAT 03/06/22

Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch, timepiece , clock etc you want to chat about.

Be Safe

Good Hunting

Well this arrived from Japan. Not an uncommon piece, but perhaps fun to discuss and I know that @Mitka is a Citizen aficionado. It's a railroad-issued Citizen Homer with 21j hacking movement. Nice glossy white dial with painted numerals and lume dots. The case-back indicates Shōwa 52, or 1977, and the bottom line references Kokutetsu Hokusen, which is Nation Rail Hokusen, in Hokkaido. Thanks to @krogerfoot for the translation. Perhaps it was the 7th issued that year to that railroad line? Surprisingly, for a watch worn by workers, these are often in good condition, and this one shows no sign of ever being serviced. It came with an old inner and outer box as well, but more research will be required to know if they are original.

Citizen used some odd words to describe their model lines. Does anyone know what "Homer" signifies? A baseball reference? For that matter, what about "Uni", "Ace", etc.
