hi everyone.

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 3:00 pm EST Sunday ....

Latest update now restored to it original black oxide finish ..

Hello Everyone

I have been doing research on this clock s/n 52604 , it was sold to LIRR IN APRIL 4/25/1910 as listed in the Chelsea Clock Company Sales Ledger ( photo of the sales ledger entry is included).

The timeline seems to be in sync with the finishing of Penn Station in 1910.

The clock has a 10 inch dial which would have about a 12 inch outside diameter case size. The finish was originally black oxide ( since polished off). I was looking thru sales data and the LIRR bought 6 ( 2 in 1910 , 2 more in 1912 2 more in 1913 ) all these with the additional “ NON-Magnetic “ feature which was an additional 4$ net charge per clock .
This model of clock .... 10 inch dial with additional " Non-Magnetc" hairspring and black oxide case finish looked to be exclusively ordered by compaines dealing with high voltages ( power generation and transmission ) including Westinghouse Electric & MFG Co., Pittsburg ( 17 ordered ) , Generl Elec. Co. Schenectady, New York (2 ordered) , Walter Electric Co., Philadelphia (1 ordered), Canadian Westinghouse Co. Ltd. (3 ordered ) . I only have access to data from 1898-1915 at that point Chelsea Clock Company did not continue to record details of each order.

If anyone has any thoughts or pictures of Pennsylvania Station, New York power station and or control stations or other areas where this type of clock might have been located that would be helpful...

I just find this very interesting... that this clock was purchased and most likely for somewhere at the new Pennsylvania Station..

Best regards
