hi everyone

Just a FYI . this is still a work in progress..... The Things With Springs Clubhouse room is meant for a Live watch forum experience with a small GTG. We are striving for a collector to collector conversations.. having collectors either email me photo of there watch ( or they can join the forum and reply to this thread ) so we can " chat" about in real time... Just to be clear we dont have to talk about a posted watch ... this is a free flowing room on topics on vintage watches and things around watch collecting ... And at the end of the GTG when everyone leaves the CH room... and the room no longer exist ... This thread will remain as a quasi record of the event and we can later go back and refer to.... Hear you at 4 pm EDT Sunday ....

Remember the Clubhouse room is only as good as the collectors that join in.... please post a watch you want to chat about.

Be Safe

Good Hunting

Perhaps some people will understand why this 1939 piece raises some Interesting questions.
65 days before the start of WWII is the inscription date.

I did zero research on this and hope to be entertained by the story behind what I was told was a golf watch.

Here are a few fun items from our Reverso discussion...

Andre Wenger's obituary (he made the cases)

The earliest Jaeger-LeCoultre ad I could find. 1937, when they were a brand of Spécialitiés Horlogères, which also sold Duoplan, Reverso, Uniplan, Ados (travel and scientific clocks), and Atmos.

The solo Jaeger-LeCoultre ad from 1938, right before they bought Vacheron Constantin.

And finally, here's my article on Edmond Jaeger: https://grail-watch.com/2022/01/05/how-edmond-jaeger-and-jacques-david-lecoultre-joined-forces/
