So ya’ll have made me see things that can’t be unseen. Several months ago I would thought this was an excellent watch- dial is clean and looks original and it’s so shiny. I still think the dial is excellent but the case is so polished it looks like a blob! They even polished away the Seamaster on the back to barely legible. Such a pity as this was probably an outstanding example before they got their hands on it. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/163652758228
To further train my eye-what is the giveaway on the dial? I thought the spot of corrosion spoke to its authenticity.
Oh-when I zoom in close at the hour markers it looks like the paint is up on the edges of the furniture. I assume factory would be painted first, then furniture applied. Am I seeing that right?
Agreed. I have had some old nasty stainless watches that I hit with a little Mother's polish and a q-tip, microfiber and they have come out like mirror finish without using any power tools- and I didn't lose any case detail....although it did "shine" the brushing on the back a bit to my dismay
