...Hint -- it has to do with the time period in which the story takes place. Anyone see it yet? gatorcpa
Not a "bund", at least as they are known today. It is a Wristlet. https://thespringbar.com/blogs/guides/nato-straps-to-wwi Take care, gatorcpa
but did you notice that at the end credits, there is a full size sweep second hand that rotates...? i thought it was weird since there is a second-hand subdial.. there shouldn't be both, right?
You are correct, at least for that time period. Omega made a few watches with both a sweep and sub-seconds dial in the 1950's. Not sure why. gatorcpa
That is rather interesting. Perhaps introducing the center seconds gradually, without upsetting the traditionalists of the time !
Center seconds watches existed back then. Used mainly in medical practices by doctors and nurses. https://watchnews.nawcc.org/watch-blog-jan-16-20.html gatorcpa
That couldn't be circumvented and needed to be exploded. Eh? Also... Paradise Islan... sorry, Themyscira. Where the hell is it? Steve takes off in a short range WW1 German monoplane from the Ottoman Empire. He crashes into the sea, so I'm guessing we're somewhere in the Agean (if we're being generous with the range). How did they get from there, through the Mediterranean, through the Straits of Gibraltar, up the coast of Spain and France, through the English Channel and then down the Thames and into the Port of London in ONE NIGHT?! Go on. Say it. Maaaaagiccccc.
I'm still trying to figure out how he crash landed, went down with the plane, got rescued, fought in battle and the watch was undamaged and still running. They must have had fantastic watchmakers on that island. gatorcpa
There was a brand, but you couldn't see it onscreen. I'm sure someone will do a blow-up and enhance when the movie is out on DVD. My guess would be one of the big American brands, as the character wearing the watch was American. Waltham, Hamilton or Illinois. Looked like too many letters for Elgin. gatorcpa
Not sure what the question is? If there is a small seconds and a sweep seconds, then it's likely a chronograph. Some had no registers because they didn't care about time spans more than a minute or three. Tom
I noticed the Watch movement in that trailer too amungst other beauties. Not a 321. Two sub dials not three, Geneva lines, wrong shaped bridges etc. I wonder what the watch and watchmaker have to do with the plot. I also am looking forward to seeing the Wonder Woman movie! I have seen one pocket watch with both a sweep second hand and a sub second hand but it was a post WWI watch.
I blame happy hour and an attempt to jokingly write off a movie for an obscure anachronism instead of having people descended from gods. As always your correct and I honestly thank you for the correction. I just assumed it was around the 30's for some odd reason.
