So what are braces? In the States braces straighten your teeth.
I am not the best person to answer as I haven't lived in the UK for 30 years but. Aye (also Scottish).
Teeth braces
Chest braces.
Suspenders are what birds wear.

Oh my. Now I get it. Bird watching in the UK is clearly a more....exciting hobby than in the States.

100% even the very first Omega flightmaster flown in space, X-33 etc... basically the world's most important Omega Speedmaster collection!

I have more 2915-1s than he has. 😀 To those here who are confident in their abilities to identify "baked" dials, please take a look at the article linked about and let me know if the 2998-1 shown is created or natural browning. It's a great looking piece.

The most impressive collection of Speedmasters I ever saw was probably Chuck Maddox's with Gerry Lupino's very close by. Chuck was getting 2915s for a few hundred bucks. I'm not interested in the thousand variations, LEs, and foreign market watches. Show me a pile of beautiful 2915s, 2998s, and some later 321 Speedmasters.

@elephantcage
Well everybody has his/hers specific focus when collecting, interesting sentence:
" In parallel, I had begun collecting space memorabilia. "

Looking at his collection is like browsing Omega forums; Speedy, Speedy, Speedy, Speedy, Speedy, damn nothing but Speedys.

Is "braces" UK for suspenders?
Yes. And in the UK suspenders are something else - much more attractive 🤣
