    For me it would be the seamster 300 appeared in Spectre. Unfortunately I still haven't gotten one yet. Debating if I should keep save up a little more or just get a cheaper planet ocean first.

    I think it began with my Sekonda. Press a button and it all lights up in blue!:eek:

    I'm of the opinion I must have the most 'fakked up', disjointed, unimpressive watch collection on this forum! ::shy::
    My 1990's Sekonda E.L.D.::puke::
    Mum's Rotary ladies:(
    Somebody's Ingersoll Maple Leaf::confused2::
    My W.M. Widdop Fender Stratocaster Watch::love::

    In the middle of this senseless, assortment of 'total and utter bollocks' sits....
    Dad's old Brown Dial, pre-moon, 321, Omega Speedmaster Professional 105.012-65 :D

    It looks a lot better out of the cupboard, on it's own and on my wrist.

    I have to own up though...the fact is... my favourite is the 'Geetar Watch'! So cool!:cool:

    Went in to look at the Orange Hand Explorer 2 rerelease, walked out with this. The rerelease just didn’t do it for me. Although the Dynamic Chrono was on my radar.

    my first real watch was an estate sale find...I had never heard of Patek Phillipe before, but thought it looked cool. I clearly had much to learn...but I was hooked.

    If you tell me you paid $100 or something like that for this watch my new hobby will be attending estate sells. ;)

    You should defiantly avoid estate sales...it will only lead to bad things. I went from a happy one Swatch owner to compulsive watch fanatic in just a few short years.

    Been interested in watches but to poor at uni to afford one! finished my PhD in science and got a job. Thought a Railmaster would be a good fit. Now I have a 2803.52 and couldn't be happier :thumbsup:

    My first Omega was a Reduced Speedmaster. My first watch that started all was a Datejust II. I did not fall in love with modern Omega (I kind of hate what it became), but I'm really into the vintage ones.

    Stupid question.... how does one find out about estate sales other than dumb luck? Are these advertised on any prominent websites? Thanks!

    Your local weekly paper should have them listed. Unfortunately you need to hit them early because dealers pick em over. I'd imagine with watches red hot right now, odds of finding anything are slim. Years ago I managed to snag some nice oriental rugs ... I'd imagine that's near impossible too.

    Great idea for a topic. I bought my first Speedmaster (first Omega) in the early 90s. It was a late 80s standard Speedmaster Professional in nice condition, but it's long since traded. In fact, it was traded (as a small part of my side of the deal) for another somewhat more costly and much older model. If I have photos, I'd have to scrounge to find them. It looks like the one mad dog shows here, but I could never get it to fit my waist, no matter how many times I tried.

    I missed the second part of the topic. The watch that started me on watches was a Timex that I got for xmas in about 1968. I think it lasted until the summer of '69. In its defense, I didn't treat it well.
