Starting this thread while waiting with anticipation to get my hands on my first true vintage omega purchase...::popcorn::
After a series of diabolical stupidities, I finally learnt my lesson!
If the deal is too good to be true, one should be double their guards and be triple diligent.

My first one was a 60's d6666, i bought it as my first omega, thought may be i would like it, but i did not :(.
Then went and bought me a 19k rose gold franken omega bumper ::facepalm1::.
Took a big loss (percentage wise), but finally sold them off.::screwloose::

After much deliberation, I caved in and loosened my pockets to get my hands on an amazing piece!
Now since this transaction happened across borders, the bank accounts took 3-6 days to clear the funds, and the watch is in transit to my buddy's house in UK.

He will come to US in 2 weeks, and then bring the watch with him....!
This wait and anticipation is just, killin me :p

I haven't seen a case-back in that condition since I was a "kid" visiting my Uncle Art, who was an Omega AD...WOW!

    it's a looooooong wait...for this dance :)
worst part is, the dude who I got it shipped to asked for pictures of what it was. So i sent him the pics provided by the seller.....
Keep in mind my friend is an mechanical engineer, too much into mechanics and works in designing turbo charger engines. He goes like...."Hmm, awesome watch...So, btw what are you giving me for my birthday (August 25)." I had to literally sweet talk him into not keeping the watch for himself :).

    Thats an interesting thought....
I am taking some product design thinking courses, and you've got me thinking.
How about a custom, made-to-size, thin-yet-strong (like titanium), time-capsule for vintage watches.

With the growing interest in the vintage watch collecting for investment purposes, this product may have a small niche, yet affluent market :p

Thanks for sharing the beautiful thought Miki,
I have more pics from the seller, but i want to take my own and share...once i get the watch my hands :)
so until them, i am listening to the beats of my other watches and imagining how fast or slow, this one will beat....!
