When you say it cannot be taken to the sea for a dive, is that because of the strap? I ask since I have never seen any Seamaster branded Omega that has less than 30m of water resistance, this model is I think rated at 60m which seems to be pretty standard these days so am not sure this design is any less a Seamaster than many other earlier designs which had dress watch aspirations as well as practical features like reliable water resistance, though it is clearly no chunky 300m model. It certainly has a more utilitarian look than the 60s SMDV models, and has some design cues from stopwatches, at least to my eye!
