Amazing informative piece of work.I love the link between the inspirational events of the space programme and the watch.
How frustrating it would have been for Stafford and Cernan to be so close and yet so far. Great post and great pics to go with it all. Congratulations. Thank you.
Awesome! Fantastic collection and equally fantastic photos! Very interesting reading of the various space missions
WOW this is truly EPIC! Thanks so much for sharing this with us TLIGuy! Great stories and photos/presentation etc etc... I just skimmed but have it bookmarked for later 'scrutiny'. Mind I post a link to this on another forum I belong? Thanks again, Lou
I have added a new addition to my collection signed by Frank Borman for his Apollo 8 mission marking the time the iconic image Earthrise was photographed. Please take a look at the new addition and the accompanying NASA video on how the iconic image came to be.
New Addition to the collection.... The Alexei Leonov piece has been the most difficult acquisition to date. Between the distance and the language barriers I'm glad this world wide adventure is finally over. While the Leonov piece does not follow the traditional format, which I asked for, it still has the signature of the first man to walk in space and command the Soviet half the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. While I was intitially a bit disappointed that the additional inscriptions were not included, I now understand that cosmonauts are traditionally reluctant to inscribe more than a signature unless it is for a family member. In the words of the person handling this for me "Вы получите от Генерального что Генеральный даст вам и будьте счастливы." or in English "You will get from the General what the General will give you and be happy."
Thank you so much for sharing. This is my maiden post here, so I'll introduce myself. After the Apple Watch came out I was seriously considering a purchase of one of the cheaper ones but to be honest the pictures I lingered over and the mode that attracted me seeing one in person was the traditional watch face. I finally made up my mind I would start wearing a watch again and had no idea what, though my boyhood excitement over astronauts and the story of Gordon Cooper got my blood up for Omega but outside my price range. By sheer luck I noticed an Invicta 19240 on deep discount on Amazon day so I finally became a watch owner and I'm surprised how often people comment on my Invicta but Omega still calls me. So I prowl the sites trying to learn what I can and keep my eyes peeled for a deal. Looking at thee sites and of course with an eye on various sale sites for an affordable vintage watch though it won't be a Speedmaster to guide me back safely from space.
