Things have been a little slow here on the watch front just recently so I was happy today when this nice, simple Constellation 14381 arrived in the post.

Nothing flashy, a plain eggshell white dial, steel markers and a nice honest steel case. As with all 14381´s it is running a cal 551 which looks to be in pretty decent shape. The watch has had a quick clean and 5 minute session with Polywatch and while looking quite presentable on a new burgundy brown lizard grain strap will still need a little cosmetic work to really shine, with the hands missing some of their lume which is now sitting on the dial.

While the watch is not really in "collectors condition" what had really caught my attention when I had first seen it offered for sale was the old bracelet that it came attached to, which is of course an early 7077 flatlink, this one date stamped 4 59 which is about right for my 1960ish watch. Some restoration work will be needed as a couple of the springs are not working, but all in all its not bad, looks unpolished and has four of its five double stretch links still remaining. :)

The only problem now is that I don´t have the 2998 to attach it to...

Finding a nice 2998 will certainly take care of things being slow on the watch front!

Nice, honest and good-looking examples you've got there, will enjoy seeing them after you are finished.

Damn dude, how come every watch in NL comes with a ridiculously cool bracelet and the ones I buy just come with smelly sweat discoloured straps

Jammy Jammy man....;) I have to say I did once buy a connie with a very similar flatlink, but your connie and bracelet combo is nicer, it will clean up well i'm sure!

Finding that bracelet is the equivalent of "if you build it, they will come." All in all, a good purchase! Thanks for sharing!

We have a lot of special offers here that are maybe unique to Europe in our famous supermarket wars! I can only guess that these "Buy one, get one free" deals are starting to wash off on the sellers of unloved old waches :p

Lovely, I am guessing this is the one out of Germany? I saw that for sale and even at the BIN price it was a great catch

Would have snagged it myself but for the fact that it was BT only and it is a pain making International Transfers (how lazy am I)
    Cheers Tom
