Usual browsing on my phone, saw this Constellation come up with a BIN of $650 and after debating whether I should pull the trigger without seeing it on my computer, I just went for it (Seller accepts returns within 2 weeks anyway).

The dial looks okay to me, the case doesn't look too bad (don't know why the back of the lugs are so beat up, but sharp logo!), probably needs a service, but I think I did okay?

It's a replacement crown. I'd also wait to hear from a few other members because the 14.900 is the most commonly faked reference of Constellation. If it's real you did okay.

I had read that, but couldn't figure out the best way to tell? I figured fakes are probably likely to be stainless, not gold capped? And the dial looks good to me...

The only counterfeit 14900 cases I am aware of are all steel with all steel backs, this one looks just fine, with a nice and correct medallion.

Looks like you have a good catch. The case is OK, the lug have been polished but not too much...love those dog leg lugs. The dial looks fine, but let experts have their say. I like the onyx insert condition, still very sharp and no discoloration. The movement looks clean and no sign of scratch or rust.

At USD 650 it is a steal IMO.

I see nothing wrong here. Even the crown is a service replacement.

You've got a bargain on that one,

This is one of the better ones to come along and for a great price. At auction it would have gone for more.

    Thanks everyone!

I definitely owe this forum for my confidence to act quickly. So if I ever decide to sell and it goes to a forum member, I promise to pass some of that good fortune along...

BTW, this is my first Connie :)

To be clear, I don't plan on selling it any time soon, I have been looking for just such a watch. But, if that day ever comes, I will repay in kind.
