Note my painful example below. Not only do I pay 15% instead of 12.75% for normal items, but its also based on the total the buyer pays, INCLUDING TAXES. PLUS International fee of 1.65%, plus 0.30 final value fee(seriously?)

All that equals 18.2% of MY sold price.

I offered free shipping, so take that out of what remains, and I am just over 23% total chunk out of selling price. GOOD GRIEF!

As a hobbyist this is painful, I can't imagine if I was trying to make a living on eBay.

I won't sell on eBay anymore because of the fees. Not worth it.

EBay from time to time offer free or discounted seller fees.

I sold an old Bulova on there a couple of months ago, it sold for $65 and I managed to get $53 of that. The fees have gotten awfully steep on there. I'm selling a watch on here and while no one has shown any interest on it since it was listed, I'm not inclined to list it on Ebay just because if I sell it for $1000 I'll only realize a bit over $800.

New guy here. What are the most reputable places that folks sell/flip watches? And more specifically, Omegas? From my noob goog search it seems like that's Chrono24 and maybe here. Please share your wisdom!

I have purchased two watches on Chrono24. One was a bit off and the seller was in Australia. I ended up selling it to a dealer for what I paid for it. (It was a Mesitersinger).

I sold my Guinand Chrono to a person in London and the deal was seamless. Worked out well for all of us. He was happy, Chrono24 paid after he accepted delivery and ok'd the purchase. All in all, it was alright.

Would use Chrono24 again. I've sold quite a few watches on eBay. (BCD5555) and only purchased two via this site. (Sinn 104 Matte and a Stowa Flieger) Both were in excellent condition.

On Omega forums I purchased two watches - a vintage dress Seiko for a fair price and I was happy. The second purchase was an older Omega and I returned the watch because the seller/owner did not show that someone had drilled the lugs.

I'm amazed to learn that anyone lists on eBay outside of the £1 total cost or 80%FvF discount periods...

I used to sell on eBay until they forced me to use their payments system and demanded my SS#. I still buy from eBay but I'm done selling there.

yeah the fees seem to constantly increase on ebay, especially the sneaky international fee you get charged for selling to another country.
Also now you have to wait a few days for the money to go straight into your account, before you feel safe to post your item.

I sold a blu-ray to someone in Germany a few weeks ago, from Ireland, and they were able to open a case against me, after 7 days as they had not received the item

Here we charge people leaving the price and photos intact in the FS listing after sale for future research and archival purposes and they throw tantrums at paying that much. :coffee:

We all really appreciate that and hopefully, as above, we won’t have to look back and say, “See, remember when they only wanted the photos and prices to stay?”

Well soon it’ll be price, photos and TFA enabled on your account but that won’t cost you more than a few moments of time to set up

I actually knock 10-20% off of what I ask when I sell here for that reason- might as well pass it along to the folks here
I’ve actually started considering this before I throw a low ball offer out to a seller- they are getting screwed by 25%, then have to pay income tax on it. Is the final cash out they are going to get even worth the value of what I am offering.

I only ever sold one item on the auction site, and despite tracking showing receipt the buyer claimed not to receive it and the auction site came down on their side! Lesson learnt.

Woah that is messed up if you could document that it was received. Were you out the $$?
