The origin of the "JLC" travel clock (and a new project...)

Regarding the 'off topic nonesense' : the photo I posted is an actual family heirloom (not some collected flea-market-or-ebay-find like all other clocks pictured here), with my grandparents names engraved on a plaque on the back when gifted to them in the 1954 and that has been with them ever since (my gran is close to 100), and the next time I travel to them, it will come travelling back with me ...

That’s great Eugene - but it has nothing to do with what this tread is about... maybe go create a new one if you want to talk about it?

Interesting bit of manufacturers documentation on the calibre 206 found inside this 8 day alarm clock.

The calendar model is also very cool... think @tomvox1 sold one here a few years back?

£4 15s adjusted for today is about £250.

And taking the 1950s as a baseline (the patent is 1932, Jaeger made the 2 day first, the 8 day appears in catalogues up until the mid 60s when the memomatic line takes over) that’s still not a lot of money.

1 x JLC 8 day alarm clock = About 1/2 the price of a hoover steam iron.

Notice that the "Pullman" which looks like a rebranded Movado is so much more expensive!

Hi to all! Sorry to intrude, but I'm new to the forum. My question seems to be on topic. I got the Looping travel watch. But I have not yet met such a mechanism. I am sending a photo. Maybe one of you can tell me what kind of mechanism it is.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

As this is a new topic, it is worth you starting your own thread. People who may be able to help you, will likely not see your post here.
