Power reserve: I don't tend to set the time on my watches Date change: Are you really awake from midnight-3am to notice? Crown travel: checked on a recently serviced A3642 of mine, the crown travels pretty much 360 degrees then pops out Year of production: Afaik a general rule of thumb "D" serials are 1968-1970. "E" serials 1971-73
@sirtaifun @paletta122 @wristpirate Tks for your input (and sorry for my belated reply). I also asked these questions on WUS, and overall it looks like all the Defy experts here and there agree - meaning that there’s nothing I need to worry about right now (incl. PR). So I can just enjoy the watch
PS: Probably more often than I should be That said, I indeed don’t tend to monitor the date shift at that time…
Love the ladder bracelets. My is in the shop but will show it off soon ("soon" in watchmaker speak is usually months....)
Speaking about ladder bracelets: “Chose promise - chose dûe”… —> I was eventually able to mount the Forstner on my A3642 and am very happy with the result. As expected, the bracelet adds a bit of wrist presence to the watch, which is quite welcome.
I need a new crystal for mine. Has anyone any experience with this guy, from Portugal, on ebay? He seems to be selling either the glass (£99) or a plexi glass version (£49). I haven't contacted him yet, but presume that he makes them himself? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/26563486...llyMrpPSKy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPYPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Why dont you buy from Zenith instead? The crystals are still available from Zenith but you need some Zenith official or send your watch to Zenith service centre.
I'm not quite sure what it is, but the Defy in pretty much iteration is really exciting in that X factor kind of way for me. Really enjoyed the great images. Thanks!
Hey everyone Thank you for this exciting and very helpful resource about vintage Defy watches. Really a great compilation! I have also been looking for a nice and affordable model for some time, but unfortunately most of the ones I have found are tinkered with or in very poor condition. Has anyone here maybe another tip where you could find one outside of Chrono24 or Ebay? Unfortunately, the few vintage dealers I know only have the usual suspects. Thanks again for the great thread here and best regards, Ben
