As some of you know, I'm a big fan of Nomos. Cosmetically and movement wise, they have my admiration. I also enjoy their average case size of 35mm. And their prices are relatively affordable.

This is even more the case in the used market.

The Minimatik takes cues from classic Bauhaus 1930's-1950's design and I think they did a very excellent job with it, infusing their own playfulness and giving it a matte finish - my favorite.

A year and a half ago, when they announced this watch, I knew it would be mine eventually. I always buy used, so it takes a little longer than it could. Here it is! And a few others I've owned in the past. Take a serious look at Nomos!

Great watches! I have a Club as per your last picture and like you say, the modest size is great for me also.
    The Minimatik is beautiful, congratulations!

If and when I buy a non omega watch it is going to be a Nomos, I can t comment on the technical quality of them, although I am sure they are well engineered, asthetically they are simple elegance personsified.

Great looking watches. I've been trying to pick up a Zurich Worldtimer second hand but haven't managed to track one down yet. Don't know if this is down to there not being many out there or people not moving them on once they've bought one?

great... i have quite some watches (breitl. iwc, omega, rlx), and of all those the nomos is the most perfectly built. Not even with a 10x loupe can i find anything that is less than perfect - dial, movement, case - its just perfectionism.

The only niggle would be the clasp, that looks like a generic clasp of a 29.00 leather band ...

also agree that 35mm is the size to go without date and 38mm with date (bc of their date implementation at 6)

    38mm date

Nice! Each time I see a pic of the 37mm Metro (with the PR) that you or Adam post, I have a sudden urge to get one...

When Ze Germans do minimalist design they certainly do it minimally, very clean looking piece indeed.

That's a heck of a watch, congrats! From the movement to the strap, everything is were it should be. After owning 2 of their watches, I can relate very well to your passion for them. And that white dial Orion with gold hour marks and blue hands is just gorgeous!

Really nice. Good value. Probably the only brand that I consider to buy it as a new.

Great watch and great post! I think Nomos is the only current brand that I truly like every single watch in their lineup, and certainly the brand that makes the most compelling case to stray away from vintage. I love that original metro with PR!

The definitely come up from time to time, there's one FS on WUS right now (I do not have any affiliation with the sale) http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-nomos-zurich-worldtimer-2710650.html

The only modern watch in my collection is the Zurich Worldtimer. As others have said, the build quality is fantastic and it's also something that you'll rarely see on someone else's wrist.

Really wish the Metro PR comes in 35mm. I could have then buy one for my wife and then borrow it all the time! That said, I also wear her Orion 33(also a gift from me) more than she does. :D

Of their line up, I really can't stand the Ahoi. It is essentially a Tangomat with a fugly crown guard, swap out the band and call it a sports model. That thing makes no sense to me. I don't mean to offend anyone who bought it, just purely my opinion...

I'm seriously considering the Nomos Minimatik. My only concern is the 35mm size.. It.looks fabulous on your wrist, do you mind me asking what size your wrist is, I'm 7" and my usual watches are 39mm.

I've also searched everywhere and nobody has mentioned the length of the watch. Could you let me know the size I'd guess 40mm but the short lugs make it hard to guess.

That taupe strap really suits it I would never have tried that combination

    Wear it in good health.

I have been eyeing the Ludwig with roman numerals for a long time and they just introduced the updated Neomatic colors which are cool too! ludwig_neomatik.jpg
