Limited to 1952 pieces... what do you think abou this re-issue of the first pie-pan? I personally wonder when they will stop with the ugly Manhattan design.
There is a thread or two about it here. Most did not like and thought Omega got it wrong. A consensus felt Omega was marketing it towards the Asian market.
Incidentally there's another piepan of sorts from about the early 2000s that's actually quit nice. A local dealer in Brisbane wears one and it looked great in white gold.
Not so limited, eh? Didn't like it myself until I tried the 35 mm 2500D and 38 mm 8500 models with the black waffle dial. If they make a strap version of the 35 mm version I might buy one since they finally got the co-axial in there in it's correct configuration.
Good thing they limited it to 1952 pieces since they probably won't be able to sell more! I much prefer the original models from 1952. I've said this before - a missed opportunity. If there is indeed a strong appetite for this style case then by all means build and sell it but use the dial with the 8500 movement (sans date) in a modern version of the classic case design from the early 1950s and build those watches too!
Use Deville case, we already have a winner here. If they opt for rose gold dial, too, then it is a home run.
I think this is the one: There are several versions...with "big" date and without. Also, I think there is one with the gold brickwork bracelet. Here is a review of the original version from 1999: http://people.timezone.com/library/tmachine/tmachine631687724805691831 Take care, gatorcpa
Yea the one I saw was the white gold with brick bracelet and I think non-big-date. It looked absolutely amazing in the metal.
The only problem with that is that it is a dodecagon and not the traditional decagon Constellation shape. Too many sides I believe to have the same "look". Not bad, but just not as good.
Well you are certainly right of course, I started counting a confused myself . Well anyway , I don't care for the rotation. I like the markers on the corners, but I can't deny that it is a pie pan
YEp, that's the one! Depending on the Co-Axial, I would have interest in a WG No-Date version. Keep in mind that I chased my Homage for almost a decade. Thus "time" is on my side. Please, not another! Miki
OK I'll save money to order this one. Could you also change the dial color to rosegold, too? (ala Grand Luxe)
