    Not wanting to derail @Duracuir1 ’s fabulous Adventures in Strap Making thread (lord knows I treat him shabbily enough already), I wanted to see what other adventures forum members are having in their leatherwork shops

    ::popcorn::

    Since it’s “Tis the season” time, I took these antique sleigh bells that I found at a garage sale this summer, and along with a sturdy piece of vegetable tanned leather…

    …and a lot of hours learning how to hand-tool leather for the first time… I just finished this gorgeous sounding door-hangar for my front door. Lovely to hear whenever I come and go. ::psy::

    These sleigh bells are huge! A size 16 pocket watch shown for scale (and vague watch forum etiquette)

    I had to pick from some older photos. Work has kept me out of my shop.

    So great to hear “chesterfield” being used.

    Holsters look like a lot of fun to make.

    I finished a journal cover today (version 2 of my first attempt). I’m extremely happy with how this one turned out. Between long walks in the snow, and some holiday-inspired overeating, I’m surprised I got this finished today But here it is, just in time to start the new year with !

    Oh, and I bought myself a new task lamp. It turns out I wasn’t going blind after all, I just needed better lighting. I’m felling pretty clever by also using my lamp to hold up my project for sewing

    If you are inclined to give this project a try, go ahead, it’s 99% straight cuts so it isn’t really hard. Chuck Dorsett has a great series on making a journal cover on YouTube at

    Couch and watch, any connection? I didn’t know that.
